On April 23rd 2009, the Center for "Environment and Agro-biotechnologies", directed by Dr. Lucien Hoffmann, officially inaugurated its new facilities for environmental technologies. The production of biogas and water treatment processes are the R&D domains the Research facility is concentrating on.
This new R&D lab allows launching pilot projects aiming to test research processes and creating thus a real partnership between public research centers and private companies.
This new facility was presented in the framework of the "EcoDev" cluster for environmental technologies and for sustainable development, which is coordinated by Luxinnovation.
This initiative is part of the Government's action plan for environmental technologies that was recently presented in January 2009 and that aims at making Luxembourg an excellence center in this sector.
